Format Painter option in Excel | How to change the format of cells from a single cell?

 When you have to format cells the same as a single cell in a Table, Format Painter option is used. Let's see a simple example.

1. Let's take a sample data with Date and Product ID, for which I wanted to change the date format.

2. Say, I want all the cells in the A column to be in the format of Cell A7 (i.e., dd-mmm-yy). So, I click on A7 to use the format.

3. Now, select Format Painter option under the Home tab.

4. Now drag your mouse to the rest of the cells for which you want to copy the format.

5. The rest of the cells from A2-A6 gets changed similar to Row A7 (dd-mmm-yy).
