There are many methods for removing duplicates in Excel. One simple way is Conditional Formatting.
Follow the easy steps below.
1. Consider a sample table with data that shows Item No., Color, and Price of the item. We are going to find the duplicate entry under Item No.
2. Select the column for which you want to find the duplicate.3. Under Home tab, go to Conditional Formatting, select Highlight Cells Rules, and then select Duplicate Values.
4. A popup box opens showing the color of the duplicate cell to be highlighted.
5. You can manually delete the data, or go to Home tab, under Sort & Filter, select Filter option.
6. Using the drop-down menu in Item No., you can filter using the color.
7. Only the duplicate entries will be shown here. You can manually delete that row, thus removing the duplicate Item in the table.
8. This is the final table after removing the duplicates.
